Postponement

Dear Friends and Family,

It is with incredible sadness that we tell you we have decided to postpone our wedding due to the coronavirus outbreak.

In this quickly changing time, it has become clear that large gatherings enable the spread of the virus and that social distancing measures are necessary.  Governments are canceling travel and discouraging gatherings such as ours. We are concerned for both those in attendance and also for the greater social good.  While there is still a lot of developing information, it is clear that we need to act.

If you have a reservation with the hotel, please call them at 973.623.0006 to cancel.

This is an incredibly difficult decision for us, and if you have any thoughts or questions, please reach out.

Once the risks have passed we plan to get married with the same awesome party we had been planning all along.  Sunday, September 6 (Labor Day weekend), is looking like a possibility, assuming the world is in a better state at that point, and we will send out details soon. We look forward to celebrating with you then.

With Love and Sadness,

Marla and Jason

Directions

Plane

Catch a flight to Newark Airport (EWR). The Marriott has a shuttle stopping at terminals A, B, and C. Check here for directions to your pickup point.

Train (Amtrak or NJTransit)

Buy a ticket to the Newark Liberty International Airport station (EWR). Your fare includes fare for the airport airtrain service, so make sure to keep your ticket when the conductor gives you a seat check, and take the ticket with you when getting off the train. Scan that same ticket at the turnstile for the airport airtrain service to terminal P4 where the Marriott shuttle will pick you up.

When leaving the airport by train, you will need your ticket to enter the turnstile after the airtrain, and again when the conductor on board requests it.

Car

Newark Airport Marriott
1 Hotel Road
Newark, NJ 07114

You can find the hotel’s official driving directions here. The signage to the airport is great, but once inside the airport campus, the signage to the hotel is not. We recommend google maps for finding the hotel.

Parking is free if you are only coming for the day. Speak to the hotel staff to get your parking validated.

Parking is $10/night as part of the hotel block. Use your room key to enter and exit the lot.

Things to do on Saturday

Explore New York City

If you come to Newark early, we recommend you explore New York City, which is a 30 minute train ride away.

Friday and Saturday Hangout

We expect guests to trickle in between Friday evening and Sunday morning depending on their schedules, convenience, and religious observance. We know that some of you will want to tour New York, and we hope you will take advantage of that opportunity. If you will be hanging out in the hotel on Friday evening or anytime after noon on Saturday, please stop by the Lincoln/Holland/Columbia room and say hi! Grab a snack, catch up, and play a board game! We will have Friday dinner and Saturday lunch and dinner in the Lincoln/Holland/Columbia room. If you would like to join us for any of those meals, please let us know.

Saturday Dinner at 7:00 (please RSVP)

If you will be in Newark for dinner on Saturday, we invite you to join us for a casual “rehearsal” dinner in the Marriott Lincoln/Holland/Columbia room.  Please let us know if you plan on attending.
